How to add MKV and MP4 to "video library" in Windows Media Player 12

Question: I am running windows 7 64bit. I installed the MKV Codec Pack and now windows media player will play .mkv files just fine. But these files along with .mp4 files do not show up in my video library in WMP, instead they show up in "other media." How can I get these files to appear in my "video library?"
